The neighbourhood of Hairsine is found in north east Edmonton. The majority of residences in Hairsine were constructed during the 1970s and 1980s, according to the 2001 federal census. 59.1% of Hairsine residences were constructed between 1971 and 1980, and another 39.4% were constructed between 1981 and 1990. The row house is the most common housing type in Hairsine, according to the 2005 municipal census. 51% of Hairsine residences are row houses, 26% are single-family homes, 18% are apartments, and 5% are duplexes. A total of 68% of Hairsine homes are owner-occupied. There’s two schools in the neighbourhood, one operated by the Edmonton Public School System called John D. Bracco School, and one operated by the Edmonton Catholic School System called St. Bonaventure Catholic Elementary School.
